Pecan Wheat Bread

2 cups whole-wheat flour
2½ cups all-purpose flour
5 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1½ teaspoons salt
1 cup brown sugar
3 cups sour milk or buttermilk
4 tablespoons salad oil
1½ cups chopped Pecans

Preheat oven to 350°.
Stir unsifted whole-wheat flour into sifted all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift together. Stir in 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar. Add sour milk or buttermilk and salad oil; stir smooth. Add Pecans. Pour into 2 well-greased loaf pans. Bake for about 80 minutes. Yield: 2 Loaves
